PENGEMBANGAN BAHAN AJAR BUKU BACA BERGAMBAR (BUBAGAM) MENGGUNAKAN METODE KATA DALAM BELAJAR MEMBACA PERMULAAN SISWA KELAS I SEKOLAH DASAR

Based on the needs analysis conducted, there are still grade I students who cannot read. In that class, 4 students could not read, 16 students who still had difficulty differentiating between the letters F with V, V with W, Y with W, M with W, Q with O from 42 students. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate by developing individual-based teaching materials through the word method. This study aims to find out how the development of “Buku Baca Bergambar” (BUBAGAM) teaching materials uses the word method in learning to read beginning grade I students of elementary schools. This research uses the type of research development. Data sources from teachers and grade I students in Pasuruan Elementary School, have 42 students. Data collection techniques using a validated questionnaire. Before going to the implementation phase, the instructional materials for “Buku Baca Bergambar” (BUBAGAM) were validated by 2 validators, namely material experts and of teaching materials experts to determine the feasibility and validity of teaching materials. The results of the study of illustrated “Buku Baca Bergambar” (BUBAGAM) are with the validity level of the material aspects of 80% and 90.6% in the aspects of teaching materials. In the implementation phase, researchers obtained 81.25% of teacher responses and student responses gained 98% with very good criteria. This shows that the “Buku Baca Bergambar” (BUBAGAM) teaching materials are suggested to be used in the process of learning to read when reading literacy before learning
