PERAN KELUARGA DALAM MERAWAT PASIEN LANSIA PASCA STROKE

Stroke is a permanent nerves defect which is obstructured the blood flow toward brain for more than 24 hours. Family have the role as the main support system in caring, to increase and to maintain the health of elderly people. Family is very influential at the recovery of elderly people post-stroke patients for increase the quality of life, health, also physical and cognitive recovery. The purpose of this study was to analyzed the role of family in caring the elderly post-stroke patients treated at home. Design of this study used the qualitatif method with the case study approach. The data in this study was collected by semi-structural interview, documentations and domain analysis. The data was taken from three participants included the families of the participants. The result of this study show that family have take good care of the elderly post-stroke patients optimally, both the role of family as motivator, giving nonpharmacological therapy, exercising range of motion and nutrition fulfilling can increase the successfully of elderly post-stroke patient recovery
