Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the latest term to encapsulate psycho‐medical explanations for fidgety, distractive, impulsive behaviours in children. Practitioners in the medical field contend these behaviours are the result of neurobiological deficit, although there is still strong disagreement about whether the problem is chiefly related to inattention or self‐regulation, whether it is located in the frontal region of the brain or somewhere around the middle, and/or whether it is the product of genetic, environmental, or biopsychosocial causal factors.
