The Drug Abuse Resistance Education program, or D.A.R.E., is a cooperative effort between police and schools working together to educate youth about the personal and social consequences of the substance abuse. For the purpose of this paper the terms abuse and use are defined as any use of psychoactive drug by persons under the age of eighteen, including alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
