Currently the number of elderly in Brazil and in all countries, is constantly increasing. With advancing age, nutrition has an important role, especially in the elderly. The supply and use of foods for improving the quality of life and prevent diseases, have been necessary in all age groups. The aim was to bring awareness of issues related to nutrition, with the help of nutrition education as a tool. This was a study conducted with a group of elderly participants of the Open University the third age-(UNATI) of an institution of higher education in the city of White-PR Duck.
