Economic Determinants of Life Satisfaction

This bachelor thesis search for factors that determine people’s feelings on whether life satisfaction is crucial for the healthy development of society. Therefore, the primary goal of the research study is to thoroughly investigate the economic fac-tors that influence life satisfaction within the OECD. The research study employs the cross-sectional data of twenty-four (24) countries in the OECD in 2016, and regression analysis involving the use of Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method to estimate the model. The research findings show that only air pollution has a negative and statistically significant effect on Life satisfaction. However, the income level has a positive and no significant influence on the level of happiness. Also, education level and unem-ployment both have negative but no significant effects on life satisfaction. The con-clusion remains that the level of air pollution is the primary determinant of life satisfaction
