This thesis focuses on theoretical and practical research into the problematics of energy intensity convergence both globally and in subpanels according to the economical development of the countries within the used sample data. Research is performed over 23 periods from 1992-2014 on a sample of 187 countries. The goal is to either prove or disprove the existence of energy intensity convergence, more precisely β-convergence and σ-convergence
