Ekologické zemědělství - zhodnocení ekonomické úrovně podniků

This diploma thesis describes the economic situation of ecological farms in The Czech Republic and compares it with farming businesses in the conventional mode. The first part includes the definition of organic farming, its history and principles, as well as the current valid legislation. The actual work describes the state of organic farming in the Czech Republic and abroad. The thesis is mainly focused on the economic situation and more specifically describes the basic economic characteristics of a selected group of companies as a whole in both types of farming. The data from the Agricultural Accountancy Data Network of the Czech Republic was used for the purpose of the work. The obtained results showed differences between organic and conventional farming, conventional businesses achieve better results in a number of indicators. Exceptions are subsidies constituting an important and irreplaceable role for organic businesses and its development
