This bachelor’s thesis describes the cultivation and the importance of the prominent and utilized Coffea genus. The literary overview is focused on the history of coffee cultivation, the differences between the most used species and varieties, describes possibilities and requirements of its cultivation, and shows the most important producers and areas where the coffee plant is cultivated. It explains the differences among methods of harvesting and methods of post-harvest treatment. This thesis also describes export, roasting, packaging, and taste profile options most suitable for various consumers
