This bachelor thesis deals with the staging of Lars Norén's plays in Czech theatres primarily since 2000. The first part of this thesis introduces the author's work, places it in the context of contemporary Scandinavian drama and focuses more closely on eight plays that the Czech audience had the opportunity to see on local stages during the period under review. The second part is dealing with those specific realizations of Lars Norén's dramas and their critical reflection and responses. The thesis offers a deeper insight into the overall reception of this playwright and, at the same time, rises the questions, why Lars Norén, one of the most successful and respected contemporary Swedish playwrights, is still almost unknown to the Czech audi...
