Media image of Notre Dame Cathedral fire in the Czech press

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the media image of the fire of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, which broke out on Monday, April 15, 2019 and lasted until the morning of the next day. The cause of the fire of the building, which celebrated 850 years since its creation and which was made famous by a novel by the French writer Victor Hugo, is still debated. The most probable cause is a short circuit in the circuit of the electrified bell located in the sanctuary tower, from which the fire spread to the rest of the roof. The final form of the future reconstructed cathedral is still not agreed, but French President Macron promised a final repair within 5 years. The aforementioned Paris fire brought with it a wave of media interest among the world and Czech media. This topic was relevant both to print and online media, as well as to television broadcasting and social networks. Most information about the fire of Notre Dame Cathedral resonated with social networks, while the smallest number of mentions was in television news. I came to my findings on the basis of a quantitative content analysis of selected media in my chosen period from April 15 to May 31, 2019, for which I used the Maximus application.
