Rabbi Alan Mayor Sokobin has lived and worked in the Toledo area for nearly half of his life. As Senior Rabbi at the Temple, Congregation Shomer Emunim for 21 years and a community leader, he has lived his faith in the larger community. An endeared spiritual leader, Rabbi Sokobin also graduated from law school and taught Jewish law at the University of Toledo. In this interview, he discusses his family roots and early education in New Jersey. He share stories about joining the Navy and his service during World War II.
