The article is a case study that describes how the communication for social change is incorporated and taught to future communicators in the journalism and film and television careers of the Institute of Communication and Image the University of Chile. Through the program review of the basic training courses in communication and specialized in both careers, thesis reports, and questionnaires to teachers, the level of education was assessed and the approach on relation to the graduation profiles proposed like a critical professional.
