The article presents the basic mathematicaland programming tools for analyzing the higher harmonicsof inverters. Harmonic spectrum of the output voltage in asimple and cascade connection of an inverter models areanalyzed using Matlab/SimPower Systems. The influence ofthe cascade connection on the output voltage harmonicspectrum is observed. There is also analyzed the totalharmonic distortion at different ways of switching
