Narrow building with a cantilevered balcony on the upper floors

Though building codes discourage tall, narrow buildings, this type of building construction is still common due to lack of space in cities. Cantilevered structures in tall buildings are thought to be particularly dangerous during disasters, if proper care is not taken during construction.
