¿Hacia unos Estudios Ibéricos 2.0? Críticas, debates y caminos abiertos

This article aims to offer an overview of the current situation of Iberian Studies, a “new”, “emerging” or “growing” field (as it is usually described), in a constant process of self-analysis and reconfiguration. Special attention will be given to the criticisms and debates that have appeared inside the field, and some of its weaknesses and limitations will be noted. Lastly, some possible alternatives for renewing or widening the field will be outlined, through which Iberian Studies will be able to fulfill its innovative potential, overcoming the temptation to become attached to a certain Iberian canon and historiography that stands as an alternative to the national canons, but which is from a methodological and ideological perspective their equivalent.El presente artículo pretende ofrecer un panorama de la situación de los Estudios Ibéricos, un campo “nuevo”, “emergente” o “en crecimiento”, según suele ser calificado, en constante proceso de autoanálisis y reconfiguración. Se prestará especial atención a las críticas y debates suscitados en el interior del campo, apuntando algunas de sus posibles debilidades o limitaciones. Por último, se apuntarán algunas vías de posible renovación o ampliación del campo, que podrían llevar a una nueva fase en la que los Estudios Ibéricos concreten su potencial renovador, superando la tentación de anclarse en la creación de un canon y una historia ibéricos, alternativas a las nacionales, pero metodológica e ideológicamente equivalentes a estas
