Introduction in India, a study had found that the prevalence of ADHD among school children was 11.32%. Prevalence was found to be higher among the males (66.7%) as compared to females (33.3%). The prevalence among poor socio-economic group was found to be 16.33% which among middle socio-economic group was 6.84%. When one child is diagnosed with ADHD, there is a 25%-35% chance that another child also will have the prospect of ADHD condition, compared to 4%-6% of the overall public.
