Enzoonotic Virus: Hantavirus (A Short communication)

Hantaviruses are zoonosis, containing several groups of viruses and spread by rodents to humans. HVD having some new genus which are - Haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) and hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (HCPS) are two clinical syndromes established in Old World and New World. Hantavirus is enveloped by RNA virus having sphere shape, belongs to family ‘Bunyaviridae’. HVD is transmitted by rodents urine which containing virus particles. It can be transmit by communicate with infected rodents and by touching to nose after handling the contagious materials. For protection from this virus, wearing a mask and hand gloves or use sanitizers for handwashing. The symptoms are flu like, Diagnosis of this virus by direct detection test. Direct detection test is more sensitive than serology test in early stage. To treat this virus by procuring Ribavirin but its effectiveness is unknown still, so supportive treatment is useful. According to CDC, mortality rate of this virus is 38%.
