Objectives This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (diagnostic). The objectives are as follows: To determine the sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive value of 1) the presence of one or more tuberculosis symptoms, or symptom combinations; 2) chest radiography; 3) Xpert MTB/RIF; 4) Xpert Ultra; and 5) combinations of the aforementioned tests as screening tests for detecting active pulmonary tuberculosis in children in the following groups.
