This article discusses the relationship between different views of school educational aims in a socially-just school and the place that occupies in them the care of sociocultural diversity, aiming to bring to the discussion the implications of this care in the pedagogical-didactic plan in the school and classes. The first topic seeks to establish the relationships between school educational aims, the socially-just school and sociocultural diversity. In the second, the political and pedagogical relevance of studies on diversity is highlighted, bringing different approaches to Brazilian and some countries in Latin American researches.
