This is a three-page typed letter From Walter S. Williams, the physical director at the Army YMCA, No. 106 at Camp Greene in Charlotte, N.C., to the students of Springfield College. The letter is dated November 5, 1917. In the letter Williams explains to the students that the Y.M.C.A. must raise 35 million dollars to continue helping the soldiers in the war. He also tells them about what the Association has been doing and what some of the soldiers have said about their experiences with them, including some quotes by soldiers. One of the quotes/stories goes like this, "Another chap said the other day, while being enjoined to cut out his profanity, "What do I care if I do go to hell; the "Y" will be there to make it comfortable.
