Life History of Col. William Christy

14 pages. Col. William Christy, Soldier, Banker, Arizona Pioneer and State Builder, was born in Trumbull County, Ohio, on February 14, 1841. He was his parent's oldest son and his mother called him her Valentine. His father was George Christy, son of an emigrant of Scotch Presbyterian stock, an Orangeman from the north of Ireland. His mother was Jane Marshall, whose ancestors came to America during the Colonial days and some of whom fought for American Independence in the Revolutionary War. Until lie was ten years old, he lived in Warren, Ohio, attending school in the winter, when he became old enough to go, and in the summer spending the time on his Grandfather Marshall's farm out from Warren, Ohio, where he helped in caring for the live-stock on the farm
