Bernard Lonergan’s Philosophy of God

Thinkers do not operate in a vacuum. Hence, as con- temporary hermeneutics indicates, to understand the content of a given thinker\u27s work it is of crucial importance to grasp the context in which the thinker articulates his world- view or understanding of reality.It is the aim of Part I of this work to investigate four principal features which characterize the new context of Lonergan\u27s philosophy of God. These four features are: (1) the anthropocentric turn ; (2) Lonergan\u27s Christian philosophy; (3) the existential dimension of Lonergan\u27s approach to the divine and (4) the cultural shift from classicism to historical mindedness
