This study examined the perceived impact of the Middle States Association self-study process on the Catholic identity of 5 accredited elementary schools. The research explored the experiences of 5 school community members from each site. The participants were actively involved in their school\u27s self-study process. The research utilized the National Catholic Education Association\u27s description of Catholic identity for an authentic Catholic school that was written in 1990. The study focused on each of the distinctive characteristics of Catholic identity.
