A renewed effort by the teaching ministry of the Church to impart a deepened understanding of the current Eucharistic teaching of the Church is cited as the significant link that will make the realization of the transformative power of the Eucharist an operative force in the lives of Catholics. Through a documentary analysis of the Conciliar and Post Conciliar documents of the Second Vatican Council, as well as relevant contemporary theological literature, the current teaching of the Church concerning the Eucharist is examined.
