The purpose of this study was to determine whether teachers sought new learning opportunities in order to better manage the educational, social, and institutional changes they experienced when their school district was desegregated. Data were collected in two ways. A survey questionnaire was administered to 170 teachers in three different schools in the district. The questionnaire, developed by the researcher, was divided into two parts. The first part included questions on teachers\u27 participation in formal and informal learning experiences.
