Background: Overweight/obesity is a major health problem among children and adolescents in the United States. Hispanic girls are more likely to be overweight compared to their Caucasian counterparts, with 26% Hispanic girls versus 14% Caucasian girls being classified as overweight (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDCP], 2018).
