This study investigates the role of female education on economic development in the case of Gimbo woreda of south west Kafa zone, located at 10 Km from Bonga Town, and 460 km south west of Addis Ababa. The general objective of the study is to assess the role of female education on economic development in Gimbo woreda. The specific objectivesof the study were to assess enrollment rate of females in relation to their male counter parts in elementary, secondary, TVET and Tertiary education, evaluating balance of female to male ratio in enrollment rate, assessing repetition and Dropout rates of females especially in primary school, assessing the relationship between female education and economic development.
