Analisis tentang Cost sebuah Demokrasi (Analisis problematik seputar Pilkada)

UU No. 32/2004 about Local Government System brings a new hope for democracy process in regions. Through directly election for Regent/Major (Pilkada), people are not only being the constituents of a certain political party, but become the supporters for certain 'person' as well. The people is not only interested in the big name' of certain party either due to religious similarity, personal emotional relation, or political propaganda, but further they are familiar with and recognize the one to whom they will elect. People choice is a recommendation and social recognition on someone qualification, either intellectual or faith and moral qualities. The source of power legitimacy of regional ruler already elected directly is the trustee from the large part of the voters, not as delegate form a political party. Therefore, tendency to spend much money (money politics), buying the vote, dissatisfaction and protest resulting in the loss of properties and murder shouldn't taken place
