Evento cerebro vascular isquémico agudo

The ischemic cerebrovascular event represents an acute entity of obstruction to cerebral blood flow of either thrombotic or embolic origin, and most of the time it is captured in the emergency service, since most occur in out-of-hospital settings. It is characterized by its high morbi-mortality and has wide clinical manifestations according to the topography of the affected artery. Its diagnosis is clinical and computed tomography should be performed to assess differential diagnosis and post-treatment evolution. The approach focuses on the effective window period, with alteplase being the treatment of choice and there are alternatives such as endovascular therapy.El evento cerebrovascular isquémico representa una entidad aguda de obstrucción al flujo sanguíneo cerebral ya sea de origen trombótico o embólico, y la mayor parte del tiempo es captado en el servicio de emergencias, ya que la mayoría se presentan en ambientes extrahospitalarios. Se caracteriza por su alta morbi-mortalidad  y posee manifestaciones clínicas amplias según la topografía de la arteria afectada. Su diagnóstico es clínico y se debe realizar la tomografía axial computarizada para valorar diagnóstico diferencial y evolución posterior al tratamiento. El abordaje se enfoca en el periodo de ventana efectivo, siendo el tratamiento de elección la alteplasa y existiendo alternativas como la terapia endovascular. &nbsp
