Walter Benjamin e o flâneur baudelairiano em Julio Cortázar

This article discusses the relation between Baudelaire’s flâneur in “The painter of modern life” and the character Roberto-Michel from the tale “Las babas del diablo”, by Julio Cortázar, in light of the analysis of the flâneur in Walter Benjamin’s essay “The Paris of the second empire in Baudelaire”. Baudelaire takes the flâneur from the tale “The man of the crowd”, by Edgar Allan Poe, describing it in relation to the ideas of convalescence and childhood, which express the curiosity of the flâneur in the crowd. In Benjamin’s analysis, on the other hand, the crowd has a negative aspect, working as a hideout for the flâneur who does not feel safe in his own society. By raising Benjamin’s analysis, we seek to propose a possible contribution to Davi Arrigucci Júnior’s interpretation of Cortázar’s character.Este artigo pretende retomar a relação proposta por Davi Arrigucci Júnior entre o flâneur baudelairiano de “O pintor da vida moderna” e o personagem Roberto-Michel, do conto “Las babas del diablo”, de Julio Cortázar, à luz da análise do flâneur desenvolvida por Walter Benjamin no ensaio “Paris do segundo império”. Baudelaire retira a figura do flâneur do conto “O homem na multidão”, de Edgar Allan Poe, e a descreve em associação às ideias da convalescença e da infância, que exprimem a curiosidade do flâneur em meio à multidão. Na análise de Benjamin, por outro lado, a multidão ganha um caráter negativo, como esconderijo do flâneur, visto que este não se sente seguro no meio social. Ao retomar a análise de Benjamin, este artigo tem como objetivo propor uma possível contribuição à interpretação feita por Arrigucci Jr. do personagem de Cortázar
