The Africanities in Contemporary Children's Literature

This article seeks to observe how the contemporary Children’s Literature deals with the themes related to the African diaspora, taking into account the cultural and identity aspects of the black people. As a research object we chose two books Os tesouros de Monifa by Brazilian author Sonia Rosa and As tranças de Bintou by French writer Sylviane Anna Diouf. Both stories reflect the affectivity and appreciation of the family and their cultural heritages. However, one situated in the African context and the other narrated on Brazilian soil.  O presente artigo busca observar como a Literatura Infantil contemporânea trata dos temas relativos à diáspora africana, levando em consideração os aspectos culturais e identitários do povo negro. Como objeto de pesquisa escolhemos dois livros: Os tesouros de Monifa da autora brasileira Sonia Rosa e As tranças de Bintou da escritora francesa Sylviane Anna Diouf. Ambas as histórias retratam a afetividade e a valorização da família e de suas heranças culturais. Porém uma é situada no contexto africano e a outra narrada em solo brasileiro. &nbsp
