The essay examines the expedition of Milanese troops to France from the summer of 1465 to the early spring of 1466. The reconstruction of the expedition reveals not only the foreign policy undertaken by Francesco Sforza – Duke of Milan from 1450 to 1466 –, but also the commercial background in relation to European networks. Moreover, the rich documentation in historical archives is a valuable record to analyze military and social details of the Fifteenth Century Milan and, also, the everyday and personal life of the Duke and his son, Galeazzo Maria Sforza, commander of the expedition
