This paper examines the advantages of using advanced composite reinforcement for the design and construction of fabric-formed concrete structures. Due to their corrosion resistance, reinforcing bars made of glass or carbon fibre reinforced polymers could solve the existing problem of ensuring the necessary protective concrete cover to steel reinforcement in fabric-formed elements. In addition, using non-corrodable reinforcement offers a possibility to reduce the carbon footprint of fabric-formed structures by replacing the ordinary Portland cement concrete with low carbon concrete types. Moreover, the low alkalinity of such concrete types, which is problematic in the case of steel bars, may improve the durability of glass fibres. The result...
