An Anglo-American perspective on fibre-reinforced polymers (FRP) for concrete construction are presented. It was found that carbon FRP (CFRP) laminates are widely used across the USA as concrete strengthening due to initial cost savings compared with traditional methods. Important aspects of FRP strengthening requiring research are also identified
