The main focus of this study is to significantly contribute to the current knowledge on the behaviour of RC continuous T-beams strengthened in shear using the Deep Embedment (DE) technique where large shear forces are combined with large negative bending moments. For this purpose an experimental program consisting of ten two-span continuous T-beams designed to fail in shear has been executed. This work also aims to deepen understanding of the interaction between the existing steel stirrups and the DE strengthening bars, monitoring at the same time the effect of DE bar spacing, the effect of DE bar type and the effect of DE bars’ angle of insertion. This paper reports on the progress made towards these aims
