The aqueducts of Zempoala and Xalpa are described in their setting of Colonial monumental hydraulic construction, some historical data are presented, and references are made lo technical characteristics relevant to their structural properties and hydraulic functioning. An evaluation is formulated concerning their safety and efficiency, making use of today 's criteria and methods, but keeping in mind the principles of design which were supposedly used at their construction, concluding that they can be considered as authentic monuments in the history of civil engineering _
