The spectral characteristics of HR 2902 are described with special emphasis upon the ultraviolet region. The presence of a rapidly evolving shell is confirmed, which reproduces the shell episode of 1947-48 and agrees well with orbital predictions. The paper in full will be published in “Astronomy and Astrophysics” .Asociación Argentina de Astronomí
