The research and analyzes undertaken are aimed at expanding the experience and knowledge on the consolidation of Holocene delta mineral-organic soils. Their behavior during loading is different to older mineral soils (clays and loams) because of higher compressibility, high natural humidity, varied content of organic parts and variable permeability. In the dissertation, particular attention was paid to the issue of how to interpret the results of laboratory tests of soil compressibility and consolidation in relation to the purpose of determining parameters that are necessary in geotechnical design.
