Current state of stream ciphers

The bachelor thesis deals with the description of the current state of stream ciphers. The first section describes the general principles of cryptography and especially the requirements, operation, and use of the stream ciphers. Random number generators are also discussed in this section. The main part is intended for specific algorithms. Stream ciphers like A5/1, RC4, E0, Crypto1, and ciphers used in modern digital networks SNOW 3G and ZUC are described here. Three projects that have the task of finding various cryptographic primitives are introduced in the final part. These are the eSTREAM project, the Caesar competition, and the standardization of light cryptography at the NIST Institute. The eSTREAM project in its final repertoire includes the Chacha20 cipher, which is currently growing in popularity. A total of 15 stream ciphers are described in this work.Bakalářská práce se zabývá popisem současného stavu proudových šifer. V první části jsou popsány obecné principy kryptografie a zejména náležitosti, fungování a využití šifer proudových. V této části jsou také diskutovány generátory náhodných čísel. Hlavní stať je určena konkrétním algoritmům. Jsou zde popsány proudové šifry A5/1, RC4, E0, Crypto1 a šifry používané v moderních digitálních sítích SNOW 3G a ZUC. V závěrečné části jsou představeny tři projekty, které mají za úkol nalezení různých kryptografických primitiv. Jedná se o projekt eSTREAM, soutěž Caesar a standardizaci lehké kryptografie institutu NIST. Projekt eSTREAM ve svém finálním repertoáru zahrnuje šifru Chacha20, jež aktuálně roste na popularitě.
