China's influence on Hong Kong's and Macao's foreign economic and trade relations

The main goal of the thesis is to analyze the historical influence of China on Hong Kong and Macao and the economic position of these two special administrative regions on the international stage. It is structured to give the audience an overview of current situation in Hong Kong and Macao and future outlook for these cities. This final thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter describes the period of the colonial regime of Hong Kong and Macao. It also focuses on analyzing the current state of the economies of these two former European colonies. The second chapter illustrates Hong Kong’s and Macao’s foreign trade in the world in general and its trade with China in particular. The last chapter is dedicated to a comparison of two periods – before and after the handover of Hong Kong and Macao to China, their current challenges and future outlook for both special administrative regions till 2047.Hlavním cílem práce je provést detailní rozbor historického vlivu Číny na Hongkong a Macao a ekonomické postavení těchto dvou zvláštních správních oblastí na světě. Je strukturována tak, aby poskytla informaci o aktuálních výzvách Hongkongu a Macaa a výhled do budoucna těchto měst. Závěrečná práce je rozdělena do třech hlavních kapitol. První kapitola popisuje období koloniálního režimu v Hongkongu a Macau. Zaměřuje se také na analýzu současného stavu ekonomik těchto dvou bývalých evropských kolonií. Druhá kapitola ilustruje zahraniční obchod Hongkongu a Macaa ve světě obecně a jejich obchod s Čínou. Poslední kapitola je věnována srovnání dvou období - před a po předání Hongkongu a Macaa Číně, současným výzvám a výhledům do budoucna obou zvláštních správních oblastí do roku 2047
