Turkey's accession to the European Union after the year 2014: selected issues of the current EU debate

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the accession of Turkey to the European Union after the year 2014. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether the entry of Turkey into the European Union is still realistic from the EU point of view. More specifically, the analysis will focus on the years 2014-2019. The theory is based on the debate on enlargement. In the empirical part, only the most important questions of the current discussion are selected because of the limited scope. These are selected on the basis of EU strategy papers and political debates. Thus, the work focuses on geopolitics and energy, human rights violations and migration. Individual sections are analysed and explained in the context of Turkey and its path to enlargement. In conclusion, we find summarised findings and outline further possible future development.Tématem této bakalářské práce je Vstup Turecka do Evropské unie po roce 2014. Cílem práce je zjištění, zda je stále reálný vstup Turecka do Evropské unie z pohledu EU. Konkrétněji se analýza soustředí na roky 2014-2019. Teorie vychází z debaty o rozšíření.V empirické části jsou z důvodu omezeného rozsahu vybrány pouze nejdůležitější otázky současné diskuse. Ty jsou vybrány na základě strategických dokumentů EU a politických debat. Práce se tedy soustředí na oblast geopolitiky a energetiky, porušování lidských práv a migrace. Jednotlivé úseky jsou analyzovány a vysvětlovány v kontextu Turecka a jeho cesty za rozšířením. V závěru najdeme shrnuté poznatky a nastínění dalšího možného budoucího vývoje
