In Sweden, it is every municipality’s responsibility to identify and risk evaluate disused landfills located within the municipality. The purpose of this study is to risk evaluate four disused landfills in Åstorps kommun, Scania, for which a risk evaluation hasn’t previously been done. In this study, the risk evaluation has been done by using a revised version of MIFO (Method of Surveying Contaminated Sites) phase 1. This has included visits to the disused landfills and archive studies. The risk evaluation through MIFO leads to a risk classification.
