La rupture du panneau plongeant ou « slab breakoff » est un processus géodynamique proposé pour expliquer les observations géologiques et géophysiques telles que l’exhumation de roches métamorphiques, le magmatisme des zones de subduction ou le soulèvement régional. Ce travail de thèse présente ainsi la caractérisation en quatre dimensions (4D) de la rupture du slab à travers des expérimentations de modélisation analogique. Différentes configurations de plaques subduite et de transition océan-continent (TOC) ont été testées via une centaine d’expériences.
