En hémodialyse chronique, la dysfonction musculaire est une pathologie fréquente qui au même titre que la sarcopénie chez les sujets âgés grève le pronostic de ces patients. Malgré les similitudes entre ces deux entités, la dysfonction musculaire des patients insuffisants rénaux doit être distinguée de la sarcopénie. Certaines anomalies moléculaires observées semblent être différentes de celles constatées au cours du vieillissement.
