Guide form and planting density afects fruit yield and quality of blackberry (rubus glaucus benth.).

With the purpose of evaluating two guiding forms, simple and doble espalier, and three planting distances, 1600, 2000 and 2667 plants per hectare, an experiment was carried out at a blackberry production farm in the municipally of Cogua Cundinamarca. The trial was accomplished during two cultivation years, divided in a growing and a comercial production period. During this time, variables of yield, fruit quality and morphological aspects of the plant were measured. An experimental design of split plots was employed, where the main plot constituted the two guiding types and the secundary plots the planting distances. A total of three repetitions was used, with a changing experimental unit according to the evaluated distances. The variables inflrorescences per plant, fruit per plant and the leaf area Índex (LAI) showed significant diferences, favoring treatments with doble espalier and high densities. Gross production expressed in kg/ha, was superior in these treataments. The individual fruit weight showed no significant difference, while the titurable acidity was lower in fruits of plants distributed at higher distances. A high valué of total soluble solids was obtained, indicating the necessity of evaluating in mayor depht coid climate crops, which could offer fruits of exportable and industrial quality. It was concluded that the highest number of plants per hectare and the espalier or doble T quiding form, constítute the advisable production system under the evaluated conditions.Con el objetivo de evaluar dos formas de tutorado, espaldera sencilla y espaldera doble y tres densidades de siembra, 1600, 2000 y 2667 plantas por hectárea, se realizó un experimento en una finca productora de mora de Castilla en el municipio de Cogua, Cundinamarca. El ensayo fue llevado a cabo durante dos años de cultivo, repartido en uno de crecimiento y otro de producción comercial. Durante dicho tiempo se midieron variables de rendimiento, calidad de la fruta y aspectos morfológicos de la planta. Se utilizó un diseño de parcelas divididas subdivididas, donde la parcela principal estuvo compuesta por los dos tipos de tutorado y la parcela secundaria por las densidades de siembra. Se usaron un total de tres repeticiones, con unidad experimental cambiante según la densidad evaluada. Las variables inflorescencias por planta, frutos por planta e índice de área foliar, presentaron diferencias significativas favoreciendo a los tratamientos con espaldera doble y densidades altas. De esta forma la producción total de fruto expresada en kg/ha también fue superior en dichos tratamientos. El peso individual de frutos no presentó diferencias significativas, mientras que la acidez titulable fue menor con plantas sembradas a distancias mayores. Se observó un alto valor en la variable sólidos solubles totales, por lo que se recomienda evaluar más a fondo los cultivos en clima frío, pues pueden ofrecer fruta de calidad exportable e industrial. Se concluye que la densidad mayor y el sistema en espaldera doble o dobleT son los más aconsejables para las condiciones experimentales del ensayo.Incluye referencias bibliográfica
