National audienceThe land administration is historically closely related to the current political system in most countries. After the Second World War Albania made extreme political choices and undertook radical agrarian reforms. These reforms were primarily driven by the socialist ideology and later by the liberal one. However, another limited reform was already made in the early twentieth century. The aim of this paper is to compare the characteristics of these land reforms issued in Albania during the period 1930-1990, to analyze their impact on agricultural production structures and the degree of land tenure security for farmers.
