Is the release of acid phosphatases by ectomycorrhizal fungi a matter of environmental conditions or species in situ?

International audienceEctomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi are able to release significant amounts of phosphatases (Pases) in their environment. These enzymes, by releasing the phosphate group of organic P, may play an important role in the recycling of P in forest soil. However, whether this enzyme release depends on the fungal diversity and / or the nutrient availability is not known. We addressed this question in the maritime pine (Pinus pinaster) forest, the first planted area in France on sandy podzol very poor in nutrient, especially P
