National audienceThe present concerns related to land are clearly imprinted with the global trend towards the increased privatisation of natural resources aimed at achieving greater economic efficiency. However, these new aspects of landholding are rooted in the legacy of history and vary according to the social, cultural and economic contexts of countries and regions. This postulate was the starting-point for the international symposium on « The Frontiers of the Land Issue.
