[Departement_IRSTEA]RE [TR1_IRSTEA]RIE / SECUREThe aim of this paper is to develop a reliability-based design method for structural stability of gravity dams. Uncertainties and variability bound to strength parameters are modeled by probability laws and physical relations. First Order Reliability Method (FORM) and Monte Carlo simulation are used to take into account strength and load uncertainties in cracking and shearing limit states assessment.
